No. The Lupit Pole Pro G4 (Studio) is pressure-mounted: it tensions between your floor and ceiling joist and comes down without leaving holes. You do need a solid joist above the mounting point.

Should I get 40mm or 45mm?

45mm is the far more common choice and is what most buyers pick — the extra diameter gives more surface for leg and body grips, which suits most people learning at home. 40mm suits smaller hands and anyone who grips mainly with the hands. If you train at a studio, match whatever they use so your grip transfers.

Which finish should I choose?
